Cline Joins Metro State's Basketball Staff

July 21, 2008

DENVER, COLO. - Tyler Cline, a former graduate assistant at Angelo State, has joined the women's basketball staff at Metro State as an assistant coach, head coach Linda Lappe announced Monday.

"We are very excited to have Tyler here at Metro State," said Lappe. "He is a bright, young coach who brings excitement and enthusiasm to our program."

Cline spent the 2007-08 season as a graduate assistant at Lone Star Conference member Angelo State. At Angelo State, he helped the Belles to a 23-9 record and their seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Cline's responsibilities included on-court coaching with both the guards and the posts, as well as recruiting and film exchange.

Prior to his season at Angelo State, Cline coached all levels of AAU girl's basketball in West Texas with the Hoop 10 organization. He helped lead Hoop 10 to a 2006 BCI national title.

A native of Cotton Center, Texas, Cline earned a bachelor's degree in exercise sports science from West Texas A&M in 2007 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in kinesiology.

Cline's duties with the Roadrunners begin immediately.
