Owen, Sadusky, Johnson Named NSCAA All-Midwest Region
Dec. 19, 2007
KANSAS CITY, KAN. - Metro State's Phillip Owen, Garrett Sadusky and Kellen Johnson were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas all-Midwest Region second team, the organization announced. Owen previously earned NSCAA/adidas all-region second team honors in 2005, while this is the first honor for both Sadusky and Johnson. Owen, who also earned Daktronics all-region honors, leaves Metro State as the program's all-time leader in goals (53) and points (132). An ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America, Owen was a four-time all-RMAC pick during his career. This past season, he led the conference in points (43) and goals (19) as the Roadrunners made their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Sadusky, the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, was a three-time all-RMAC selection. He helped anchor a defense that gave up just 27 goals in 22 games. Johnson, a midfielder, was tied for second on the team with five goals and also ranked fourth on the team with 13 points. Metro State finished the season with a record of 16-3-3 and was ranked No. 9 in the final regular-season NSCAA poll. 2007 NSCAA/adidas Men's Soccer Midwest Region Teams Second Team |
