Owen Named Daktronics All-Midwest Region

ODESSA, TEXAS - Metro State's Phillip Owen was named to the Daktronics Men's Soccer Midwest Region first team, the committee announced. Daniel Brown of Midwestern State was named the region's player of the year. Owen was one of three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference players named to the first team as Colorado School of Mines' Craig Thompson and Kieran Hall of Fort Lewis also earned accolades. Owen leaves Metro State as the program's all-time leader in goals (53) and points (132). He led the RMAC in points (43) and goals (19) this season as the Roadrunners made their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Daktronics Midwest Region teams were voted on by the region's sports information directors. The first-team selections move on to the national ballot and are eligible for all-America honors.
