Gorman Named Daktronics All-America Third Team

MIAMI SHORES, FLA. - Metro State catcher Reece Gorman was named to the Daktronics Division II All-America third team, the organization announced.

Meanwhile, outfielder Jake Palmer earned honorable mention accolades. Both earned Daktronics first team all-West Region honors, qualifying them for the all-America ballot.

Gorman led the Roadrunners in average (.417), runs (81) and doubles (27), while he was second in RBI (62). His 27 doubles and 81 runs scored are Metro State school records. Palmer led the team in RBI (89) and home runs (12), while he was third in average (.412) and doubles (15). His 89 RBI are a school record.

Chad Jacobson of South Carolina Aiken was named Player of the Year, while Korey Noles of Columbus State earned Pitcher of the Year honors.

Metro State finished the season with a school-record 38 victories and advanced to the RMAC Tournament.
