Women Second, Men Third After Day One of Rocky Mountain Invitational

GOLDEN, COLO. -- The Metro State women are in second place, while the men are third after day one of the Rocky Mountain Invitational, hosted by Colorado School of Mines Thursday.

After Thursday's competition, Colorado School of Mines leads the women's competition with 176 points, followed by Metro State (172) and Mesa State (130). On the men's side, Texas Permian Basin has 281.5 points, followed by Colorado School of Mines (262) and Metro State (143).

Individually for the women, Meredith Quast-Lanphier won the 50-yard free in a time of 25.42, while Kathy Lind was second and Jessica Shaddock was third. The women's 200-yard free relay team also won in a time of 1:42.52. Annika Matlock was second in the 500-yard free, while Lisa Black was third in the 200-yard medley.

For the men, Kenny Rhoades won the one-meter diving competition with 508.25 points. Evan Venrick was second in the 500-yard free in a time of 4:52.21, while Alejandro Hernandez was third in the 200-yard medley (1:58.36).

Competition continues at Mines, Feb. 15-16.
